Casual fishing trips are sold on a per person basis, limited to 12 people on any trip. Boat rods set up for snapper fishing and frozen baits are included.(You are welcome to bring your own rod and bait if you wish) Minimum numbers apply and sailings are subject to suitable weather conditions.
DEPARTURE. From Whangaparapara Wharf at specified time, usually 0800 unless otherwise arranged.
DURATION. 4-5 hours
INCLUDES Tea & Coffee, bait,rods and tackle.
BRING Warm clothes/wind breaker, sunscreen, hat, snack food and soft drinks

The vessel can be chartered for half day or full day or multiple day trips. Charges are based on exclusive use of the vessel operated by the skipper. The charterer can choose the activities undertaken during the day subject to the capability of the vessel and safety of those onboard. Rods, tackle, bait and catering are all available for an extra charge.

Half day trips are 4 – 5 hours in duration and start / finish time may be restricted by other bookings on the same day otherwise by agreement. We endeavour to manage trip times to match best fishing conditions when possible. Rods, tackle, bait and catering are all available for an extra charge.

Full day trips are 8 – 10 hours in duration with start and finish times by agreement. We are happy to do multiple days but the vessel is not licensed for overnight trips. Rods, tackle, bait and catering are all available for an extra charge.

The vessel is licensed to carry 20 persons plus the skipper, however we recommend a maximum of 12 persons fishing or diving to provide the best experience for your group. Sightseeing groups of up to 20 are comfortable on the vessel. For larger groups we work with other charter operators and split the numbers across the vessels chartered.

From Whangaparapara Wharf at specified time unless otherwise agreed. We will pick up and drop off from other Great Barrier Island harbours (Tryphena or Fitzroy) but additional charges may apply.

Rods and bait except on casual charters where it is included. (We hire rods set up for snapper fishing and supply bait for additional charge – see current published rates). Warm clothes/wind breaker, sunscreen, hat, snack food and drinks.
On full day fishing and all sightseeing trips we will do catering according to your requirements and budget if ordered in advance. We have boiling water for hot drinks but no cooking facilities. A portable BBQ and microwave can be provided on request

THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO ANY USE OF THE VESSEL UNLESS SUPERCEDED BY A FORMAL CONTRACT CONTAINING ALTERNATIVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SIGNED BY BOTH PARTIES.

You can book and pay for your trip through this website booking system. Full payment is taken at the time of booking.
For manual bookings with us a 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Payment of the remainder of the charter or fishing trip cost is due 7 days prior to departure. Payments can be made by direct payment to our bank account or by credit card online. We accept Visa and Mastercard.

You must follow the skippers instructions at all times while onboard. You will be advised of location and use of safety equipment and any hazards that exist on the vessel. You will also be advised of unsafe practices (such as sitting on the rail) and you should refrain from acting in an unsafe or reckless manner while onboard. Our primary concern is for your safety, and you must comply with any instructions from the skipper immediately and without argument. This includes donning life jackets when asked to due to unsafe weather conditions.

All departures are subject to weather. Cancellation is at the sole discretion of the vessel’s skipper. In the event of a cancellation before the start of the trip due to weather conditions all passengers are entitled to a full refund if they cannot reschedule to an alternative date. COVID 19 – If travel is prevented due to COVID 19 restrictions imposed by the NZ Government we will offer a reschedule date, a credit for a future booking or a full refund.

Bookings are not secured unless payment of a deposit (20%) or full charter amount is made. Final payment of amount due must be made 7 days prior to charter date. If you cancel 30 days prior to booking full refund will be made. Cancel between 30 and 7 days prior to the booking deposit is not refundable unless we are able to fill that charter date with an equivalent booking. Cancellation 7 days or less you are liable for the full charter amount. We recommend that you obtain appropriate travel insurance.

We are not licenced under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, and alcohol is not permitted. We have no issue with smoking (on deck only) except when interfering with the safety, or the comfort of other passengers.

You must pay for any damage you cause to the boat or its fittings, or any rods and reels that you damage or lose overboard, even if accidentally. You are not liable for any normal wear and tear or gear failures, such as reels jamming or rods breaking when the rod to line angle is greater than 90 degrees. Rods do occasionally break when used improperly, and we can advise you on this if you are unsure, so please just ask.
